Instructors & Staff
As owner of Driver Training Services, Bob has been in the transportation industry for more than 35 years. He has been licensed by the PA Department of Education as a driving instructor since 1996, and has certifications from the PA Department of Transportation as an Inspection Mechanic, a Commercial Driver Trainer and a Third Party CDL Instructor/Examiner, with a working knowledge of DOT regulations.
Bob is certified to conduct Driver Competency Assessments, and as the operator of the local National Safety Council Training Center, Bob has extensive experience in safety training, risk management and accident prevention. He has consulted in the development of the adult education programs at North Montco Technical Career Center, where he conducts Professional Truck Driver classes and testing. Bob also presents National Safety Council Defensive Driving classes at Montgomery County Community College.
He serves as Vice President of the Pennsylvania Association of Professional Driving Schools (PAPDS) and is the Northeast Regional Vice President of the Driving School Association of the Americas (DSAA) and a member of the Pennsylvania Association For Safety Education (PASE).
Harry brings over 50 years of driving experience to Driver Training Services. In addition to cars, vans and light trucks; he has more than 20 years of driving Class A and Class B vehicles. His teaching experience includes 12 years as a CDL instructor, and over 2 years as a Class C instructor. Harry is also comfortable in a classroom setting where he teaches defensive driving and specialty vehicle training.
Sandy has been working with children her entire adult life. She was a basketball, volleyball, softball and little league baseball coach when her kids were young. She is currently a school bus driver full time, and has been for over 20 years. She was presented with the opportunity to combine her love of teaching and her love for driving as a part time instructor with Driver Training Services a little over a year ago. She says she considers it to be such a privilege to become part of her student’s team teaching their defensive driving skills and skills needed to look ahead, think, and stay safe.
As a mother of three, Chris brings her experience raising teenagers into her training by creating a positive atmosphere; allowing her students to learn at their own pace. She works with teens in her church youth group and teaches Sunday School. She believes that successful learning is best achieved when the teacher recognizes that each student is unique. The key is determining the approach that works best for each student.
Terry started out his auto career as the owner of an Amoco Service Station, where he was certified as a State Inspection Mechanic. He then became a member of the Whitemarsh Township Police Department, where he was an active police officer for 33 years. During this time, he was a member of the Traffic Unit and SWAT/Special Operations and Response Team. He started as an instructor with Driver Training Services in 2016
Bill has been retired from Upper Gwynedd Township Police Department after 30 years of service, and now is a part time examiner/instructor for Driver Training Services. Bill was a Traffic Safety Officer while on the force, in which his duties included traffic control, accident investigation and reconstruction, and he was also a DARE officer. He worked with PennDOT in the past assisting on proposed traffic signals, traffic timing and traffic patterns. As a longtime member of the community he has spoken at various community events regarding safe driving and vehicle laws. He has been teaching behind the wheel driving instruction with DTS since 2015. He is also a Summer Boot Camp instructor.
Joe has been working for DTS since June 2009. Prior to working here, Joe worked for another driving school as an instructor since 2004. Joe is a retired Police Officer from Philadelphia and was a Detective for the District Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia, serving 35 years.
Diego comes to DTS with extensive experience on the road as a CDL driver; logging over 1 million miles since 1988. He also has 12 years of experience in the medical and military fields. His 5 years working on an EMS crew gives him first-hand knowledge of the dangers on the road. Diego stresses the reality of unsafe driving to his students and his focuses on the importance of sharing the road with other vehicles safely. He strives to teach his students life-saving skills on the road. He teaches the National Safety Council Defensive Driving Courses and Alive@25 for DTS.
